On September 28, 2015, Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. announced a proposal to acquire Media General, Inc to create a leading pure-play broadcast operator with significantly expanded audience reach and portfolio diversification. We are confident that Nexstar’s proposed transaction would strategically and financially compelling for shareholder’s of both companies, and that it would generate more near- and long-term value for Media General shareholder’s than Media General’s planned acquisition of Meredith Corporation.
