Nexstar Broadcasting Promotes William Evans to Vice President and General Manager of Syracuse, New York Broadcast and Digital Operations

Accomplished Broadcast Executive with 19 Years of Broadcasting and Sales Management Experience to Lead WSYR-TV and LocalSYR.com

SYRACUSE, New York and IRVING, Texas, May 22, 2015 – Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that William (“Bill”) Evans has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager of WSYR-TV (ABC), MeTV Syracuse, Bounce Syracuse and associated mobile and digital operations under LocalSYR.com which serve the Syracuse, NY market (DMA #84). Since 2007, Mr. Evans has served as the Director of Sales at WSYR-TV where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the station’s sales department. Mr. Evans will assume his new responsibilities immediately and will report to Theresa Underwood, Senior Vice President of Nexstar Broadcasting.

Bill Evans’ career in broadcasting spans nearly two decades at WSYR with expertise in local and national sales management, new business development and strategic planning across multiple media platforms. During his management tenure as Director of Sales at WSYR-TV, Mr. Evans developed and led highly effective teams and implemented sales, marketing and digital media initiatives that drove increased market share and profitability at the station. In addition, he developed creative sales strategies that resulted in higher customer retention and significantly increased new direct business development. Mr. Evans joined WSYR-TV in 1996 and ascended from his original role as a Local Account Executive to positions of elevated responsibility serving as National Sales Manager, General Sales Manager, and Director of Sales. In recognition of his career achievements, Mr. Evans was awarded the Central New York Sales and Marketing Excellence Award in 2008 from the Central New York Sales & Marketing Executives (CNYSME) organization.

Mr. Evans earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the Seneca River North Little League and is a Volunteer Youth Baseball Coach. He continues to be involved in fund-raising initiatives for various charitable organizations including Make-A-Wish, JDRF Central New York Chapter and Foundation for Upstate.

Bill Evans resides in Liverpool, New York with his wife Kathy and two sons Jake and Alex.
