Nexstar Media Group Names Jesse W. Grear Vice President and General Manager of Mobile, Alabama Television and Digital Operations
Accomplished Alabama Broadcast and Sales Management Executive to Lead WKRG-TV (CBS), WFNA-TV (CW) and WKRG.com
MOBILE, Alabama and IRVING, Texas – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Jesse Grear has been named Vice President and General Manager of WKRG-TV (CBS) and WFNA-TV (CW) and associated digital services including WKRG.com, serving Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL (DMA #60). Mr. Grear will assume his new responsibilities immediately and report to Bill Sally, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc.
Jesse Grear is an accomplished broadcasting, marketing and sales management executive with over two decades of leadership experience, including 12 years serving local communities in Alabama markets. He brings to his new role at Nexstar expertise in local and national sales management, local programming and content, new business development and strategic planning across multiple media platforms. Mr. Grear most recently served as Vice President and General Manager of WAKA-TV (CBS) and WBMM-TV (CW) in Montgomery-Selma, AL (DMA #123) with additional oversight of WNCF (ABC) under a shared services agreement. During his tenure, he recruited and led highly effective teams and implemented sales, marketing and digital media initiatives that drove increased revenue share and profitability at the stations, while improving overall client service. In addition, he developed innovative content strategies and launched unique digital concepts that resulted in expanded audience reach and community engagement.
Prior to that, Mr. Grear was an equity partner and manager of WNCF-TV (ABC) and WBMM-TV (CW) where he successfully implemented expense management initiatives and developed revenue-generating strategies for the station’s local programming that led to market share growth as well as improved top line and bottom line performance. Under his leadership, WBMM-TV was recognized as a CW Affiliate of the Year. Formerly, Mr. Grear was at WUVG-TV (Univision), the first all-Spanish language television station in Atlanta, GA (DMA #10), where he consistently outperformed revenue share targets through key account development and strategic relationship building. Before that, he held various sales and marketing management positions at VCI, a traffic management system, Qwest Digital and Mass Media Marketing. Mr. Grear began his broadcasting career at WAGT-TV at WAGT-TV (NBC) in Augusta-Aiken, GA (DMA #111) as an Account Executive and he was later promoted to Director of Sales as a result of his outstanding sales performance.

Mr. Grear serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Broadcasters Association, the American Red Cross of Alabama, Salvation Army, YMCA and US Army Advisory Committee.
Mr. Grear and his wife, Debra, will be immediately relocating to the Mobile-Pensacola region.
