Tammy Phillips

Tammy Phillips was named Vice President, Talent Acquisition for Nexstar Media Group, Inc. in May of 2022.

Ms. Phillips joined Nexstar Nation as Senior Corporate Recruiter in 2019 and was named Director of Talent Acquisition in March 2020. Prior to this, she spent 24 years working in television newsrooms around the southern United States. She started her career as a producer and quickly worked her way into leadership roles at stations in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Biloxi, Mississippi, and Little Rock, Arkansas. From there, she took a leadership role at WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee, where she served as Assistant News Director and then News Director. Ms. Phillips has won multiple Regional Emmys for breaking news and special events coverage. She is a Kneeland Fellow and a graduate of news leadership training at the Poynter Institute.

Ms. Phillips serves on Nexstar’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. She is a board member for the Arkansas State University Communications Alumni Board, as well as for Agape Child & Family Services non-profit in Memphis, where she serves as Secretary and Marketing Chair.

Ms. Phillips is a graduate of Arkansas State University. She and her husband, Darrell, have one daughter, Maggie.
