KLAS-TV (CBS) And KINC-TV (Univision) Partner To Bring Las Vegas and Nevada Voters Live Coverage of the Only Statewide U.S. Senate Debate
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – KLAS-TV, the CBS affiliate serving the Las Vegas DMA (#40), announced today that it is partnering with market’s Univision affiliate, KINC-TV, to host the only statewide U.S. Senate debate between Nevada candidates Joe Heck (R-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) on Friday, October 14, 2016 beginning at 7:00 p.m. PDT. The candidates are competing for the seat that will be left vacant by Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), who is retiring after 29 years of service.
The one-hour debate is scheduled to take place at Canyon Springs High School Theater (350 E. Alexander Rd., North Las Vegas, NV). The debate will be moderated by Denise Valdez, KLAS-TV 8 News Anchor; Tsi-Tsi-Ki Félix, KINC-TV Univision Political Anchor and Steve Sebelius, KLAS-TV 8 “Politics NOW” Host and Las Vegas Review Journal columnist.
This must-see event will air in Southern Nevada via live television broadcast on KLAS-TV, following the station’s regularly scheduled 60 minute evening newscast at 6:00 p.m. PDT. To ensure full statewide coverage, KTVN-TV, the CBS affiliate serving the Reno, NV DMA (#112) will live-simulcast the debate to Northern Nevada viewers. Immediately following the debate, KLAS-TV will broadcast a live post-debate special from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. PDT.
Univision affiliates, KINC-TV (Las Vegas) and KREN-TV (Reno) will air the debate on Sunday, October 16 at 5:00 p.m. PDT. The debate is also being offered to the Nevada Public Broadcasting system for both radio and television.
