Nexstar Broadcasting Launches Inaugural Founder’s Day of Caring to Celebrate 20 Years of Local Excellence and Service
Nexstar Offers Employees Paid Hours of Service in Support of Local Causes and Will Match Every Hour of Community Service with a Corresponding Dollar Donation
Sets Goal to Generate 20,000 Hours of Community Service Across 104 Stations in 54 Markets
IRVING, Texas – To mark twenty years of excellence in local programming and service, Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today the launch of its inaugural Nexstar Founder’s Day of Caring on Friday, June 17, 2016. Inspired by Nexstar’s long-term commitment to local communities across the country and the exceptional service delivered by Nexstar’s local teams each day, the Company is offering over 4,400 employees across 104 television stations in 54 markets the opportunity to volunteer on behalf of local organizations, selected by the staff, with the goal of generating 20,000 total hours of community service.
In support of the Nexstar Founder’s Day of Caring, the Company is providing its employees paid hours of service, to maximize participation while ensuring critical broadcast and digital operations are maintained during service hours. In addition, to further magnify impact Nexstar is matching each hour of community service with a corresponding dollar donation to the beneficiary charities, up to a total of $20,000.
