Senators Will Address Federal Response to Coronavirus Outbreak and Hawaii’s Plan to Reopen the State’s Economy 

KHON2 Brings Together More Than 1.4 Million Residents Across All Islands For Second Virtual Town Hall in One Week

HONOLULU, HI and IRVING, TX (May 27, 2020) – Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST), announced today that it will host an exclusive live virtual Town Hall meeting, “Coronavirus Facts Not Fear: Town Hall,” featuring Hawaii’s United States Senators Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.  The senators will address the federal response to the coronavirus pandemic, Hawaii’s plan to reopen the state’s economy, and answer important questions from viewers.  Due to restrictions on large gatherings, the senators will remotely join the broadcast and livestream.

The half-hour virtual Town Hall will originate from the studios of KHON-TV/KHII-TV in Honolulu, Hawaii and will bring together more than 1.4 million residents across all of the state’s islands.  The Town Hall meeting will be broadcast from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on KHII-TV and 9:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Hawaii Time on KHON2.  A livestream broadcast of the Town Hall will be available on the KHON-TV website at KHON2.com. Viewers can submit their video questions via the Report It feature on the KHON-TV website, or by sending an email to News@KHON2.com.  Viewers are also invited to submit questions via social media using the hashtag #KHON2Covid19.

The television broadcast will be hosted by KHON2 News Anchor and Investigative Reporter Gina Mangieri and will open with a recap of the latest developments in the pandemic and plans for reopening the state’s economy.  Ms. Mangieri will then pose viewer questions to the participants.
