Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation Donates $3,000 To Embassy Theatre Foundation In Ft. Wayne, IN
Irving, TX and Ft. Wayne, IN (JUNE 14, 2024) – The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and WANE-TV, the Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST) television station serving Ft. Wayne, IN, and the surrounding area, today announced that the Foundation will donate $3,000 to the Embassy Theatre Foundation. The donation will be used to help with the theater’s preservation and restoration work.
Built in 1928, the Embassy Theatre is Indiana’s largest self-sustaining historic theater and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally known as the Emboyd, with the adjoining seven-story Indiana Hotel, the majestic movie palace and vaudeville theater introduced Indiana to the biggest stars of stage and screen.
Today, the historic Embassy Theatre features national productions from the Broadway stage, concerts, cinema, educational programming, and other special events such as this year’s the Middle Waves Music Festival being held on Saturday, June 15, at Parkview Field in downtown Fort Wayne.
“WANE-TV is excited to support the historic Embassy Theatre. Middle Waves is the gem that makes Fort Wayne so special to live,” said Tom Antisdel, Vice President and General Manager of WANE-TV. “Giving back to the communities served by Nexstar across the country is core to the company’s mission, and we are honored that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making this donation in recognition of the deep relationship between WANE-TV and Embassy Theatre Foundation.”
WANE-TV is the media sponsor for the 2024 Middle Waves festival.
The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar Media and its subsidiaries do business. The foundation was originally established in 1958 and it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.
