Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and WNCT 9 On Your Side Donate $5,000 To Salvation Army of Greenville, NC

IRVING, TX (Nov. 20, 2020) – The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation announced today it will donate $5,000 to the Salvation Army Greenville Corps based in Greenville, North Carolina, on behalf of WNCT 9 On Your Side, the Nexstar Inc. television station serving the area. The donation is part of WNCT’s month-long series “Caring for Carolina Non-Profit Spotlight,” featured on “The East’s Daily Download”, the station’s locally produced lifestyle program. The donation will be used to help the Salvation Army continue providing a variety of social services to those in need.

The Salvation Army assists men, women and families with basic needs such as food and clothing, as well as rent, utilities and medication assistance, and provides a variety of services to the homeless of Greenville. The Greenville chapter also supports a local food pantry and various youth programs.

WNCT 9 On Your Side has a long history of working with and supporting the Greenville Corps chapter of the Salvation Army, serving as its main partner in Eastern North Carolina for its “Angel Tree” program. The Angel Tree program helps to ensure children in need will wake up Christmas morning with presents under the tree.
