Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation Donates $5,000 to Honor Flight Northeast Indiana

Irving, TX and Fort Wayne, IN (November 11, 2022) – The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and WANE 15, the Nexstar Media Inc. television station serving Fort Wayne, IN and the surrounding area, today announced that the Foundation will donate $5,000 to Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana. Honor Flight Northeast Indiana is a recognized, independent hub of the Honor Flight network and was created to transport veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor.

WANE 15 has been a proud partner and supporter of Honor Flight Northeast Indiana since 2012 but for the past five years, WANE 15 and Honor Flight have partnered to present the Veterans Voices program each year on Veterans Day, an hour-long show telling the stories of local veterans and Honor Flight Northeast Indiana.

“Honor Flight Northeast Indiana would like to thank Nexstar Charitable Foundation and WANE 15 for their generous donation,” said Cathy Berkshire, President of Honor Flight Northeast Indiana. “We’ve had a long and successful relationship with WANE 15, culminating in the Veterans Voices project, which encourages Veterans to sign up for their Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to visit the Memorials built to honor their service to our country.”

The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar Media and its subsidiaries do business. The foundation was originally established in 1958 and it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.
