Nexstar Media Group Names Melissa Stacy Director of Local Content Development

Proven Industry Executive Appointed to Newly-Created Position Overseeing Nexstar’s Broadcast and Digital Local Content Initiatives

IRVING, Texas – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Melissa Stacy has been named Director of Local Content Development, responsible for overseeing the execution and expansion of the Company’s strategic local content and viewer engagement initiatives across its broadcast and digital media operations. Since 2014, Ms. Stacy has been the Assistant News Director of WFLA-TV (NBC) and wfla.com, serving the Tampa, FL market (DMA #11). The appointment is effective immediately and Ms. Stacy will report to Blake Russell, Senior Vice President, Station Operations and Content Development of Nexstar Media Group.

Ms. Stacy’s promotion reflects Nexstar’s expanding scale and strategy to appoint proven broadcast and digital media leaders to oversee the development of its innovative multi-platform local news and community-focused content on a regional basis, while enhancing its commitment to serve viewers, clients and advertising partners.

In her new role, Ms. Stacy will work across the Nexstar organization and with other corporate personnel, General Managers, News Directors and creative services teams to execute the Company’s strategies focused on brand development, local content leadership and excellence in viewer / client experience and service. In addition, she will be responsible for executing and monitoring action plans aimed at achieving corporate and regional business objectives, growing ratings and revenue share and improving audience interaction and engagement with Nexstar’s broadcast, digital and mobile media platforms.

Prior to Nexstar, Melissa Stacy spent 17 years at Media General where she consistently delivered excellence in multi-platform local news programming, production and service, including a track record of consistently raising ratings in progressively larger markets. Ms. Stacy joined Media General in 1999, serving as Assistant News Director for WSLS-TV (NBC) in Roanoke, VA (DMA #67), where she was responsible for the coordination and on-site field production of breaking news and special events. In 2004, she was promoted to serve as News Director for WNCT-TV (CBS) in Greenville, NC (DMA 100) where she successfully launched the I-Team news franchise and increased ratings share. Ms. Stacy returned to WSLS-TV in 2007 where she effectively served as News Director of the station for seven years before being promoted to her most recent role as Assistant News Director of WFLA-TV in 2014. During her tenure, she worked with the News Director to build a dominant local news operation with a strong local brand in a competitive top-15 market.
