Nexstar Media Group Promotes Kyle King to Vice President and General Manager of Little Rock, Arkansas Television and Digital Operations
Accomplished Nexstar Veteran and Local Broadcasting and Sales Management Executive to Lead KARK-TV (NBC), KARZ-TV (MyNetwork) and ArkansasMatters.com
LITTLE ROCK-PINE BLUFF, Arkansas and IRVING, Texas – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that J. Kyle King has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager of KARK-TV (NBC), KARZ-TV (MyNetwork) and associated digital services, including ArkansasMatters.com, serving Little Rock-Pine Bluff, AR (DMA #57). In his new role, he will also be responsible for overseeing Nexstar’s relationship with Mission Broadcasting’s KLRT-TV (FOX) and KASN-TV (CW) under a joint operating agreement. Since 2009, Mr. King has served as Vice President and General Manager of KMID-TV (ABC) in Odessa-Midland, TX (DMA #143) where he was also responsible for overseeing Nexstar’s joint operating agreement with Marshall Broadcasting’s KPEJ-TV (FOX). Mr. King will assume his new responsibilities immediately and report to Mike Vaughn Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc.
An industry veteran with nearly 30 years of broadcast and sales management experience, Kyle King has spent his career serving local communities in the South Central United States, including eight years as Vice President and General Manager of Nexstar’s Odessa-Midland television and digital operations. During his tenure at KMID-TV, Mr. King led teams that delivered effective marketing solutions for local and national advertisers, while also implementing innovative programming strategies and unique digital concepts that expanded audience reach and community engagement. In addition, he directed the complete overhaul of the stations’ news programming, managing all aspects of local branding, creative development, news set construction and talent recruitment. Importantly, his efforts and initiatives resulted in revenue and viewership share growth, new local client partnerships and overall increased station profitability.
Before joining Nexstar, from 2004 to 2008 Mr. King served as Director of Sales at KXAN-TV (NBC) and KBVO-TV (MyNetwork), and the stations’ associated digital properties serving in Austin, TX (DMA #39), where he provided strategic oversight of all local and national sales efforts, while developing meaningful revenue streams for the station’s digital operations. Prior to that, he served as a Manager of FOX Station Sales in Dallas, TX, (DMA #5) where he led a sales staff responsible for developing and selling national inventory for 13 Southwestern FOX television stations. Earlier in his career, Mr. King held sales leadership positions at Hispanic Television Network and at KXAS-TV (NBC) and KDFW-TV (CBS) in Dallas, TX.

Mr. King graduated from Baylor University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus in Marketing and Management. He completed General Electric’s management training coursework including, GreenBelt and Six Sigma. Mr. King is also a graduate of the Leadership Journey Personal project and has been an active participant in charities and community organizations throughout his career.
Mr. King and his wife Ginger will be immediately relocating to Little Rock.
