Our Foundation
Giving back to the communities served by Nexstar across the country is core to the Nexstar’s mission.
The Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar Media and its subsidiaries do business. The forerunner of the foundation was originally established in 1958; it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.
From fighting food insecurity, supporting our vets, and promoting diversity in media and entertainment, our Foundation is proud to help support a variety of organizations throughout the U.S. Some of the contributions given in 2024 went to:

- Nova Workforce Institute of Northeast Louisiana: connects the needs of employers and local residents looking for careers in healthcare, advanced manufacturing and trades, or IT and general workforce. Their services include career training, counseling, job placement, career guidance, and coaching.
- Project Angel Food: prepares and delivers, free-medically tailored meals to feed people impacted by serious illness, bringing comfort and hope every day.
- American Diabetes Association: committed to innovation and breakthrough research that will improve the lives of all people living with diabetes.

Gary Weitman serves as the Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer and is Nexstar Media Group, Inc.’s EVP & Chief Communications Officer. Alex Cervantes serves as the Foundation’s Chief Administrative Officer.
