KDVR FOX31 is the fastest growing local news operation in the Denver market. FOX31 airs 50.5 hours of local news/programming each week. On weekdays, FOX31 News is on from 4:30 – 10 AM; 11:00-11:30 AM; 5-6 PM; 9-10:30 PM. On weekends, FOX31 airs news 5-6 PM and 9-10:30 PM. FOX31 also carries “Sports Zone” on Sunday evenings at 10:30 PM; and is the home of the Bronco’s Coach’s show during the NFL season.
FOX31 is the relative newcomer on the television landscape in Denver. A local ownership group signed on KDVR TV on August 10, 1983. The station was sold to FOX on November 15, 1994 and launched news in 2000. Local TV bought the station in 2007 and created an LMA with KWGN. Tribune then bought FOX31 in 2012 and created a formal duopoly with KWGN.
FOX31 is the home of the “Problem Solvers,” a content-driven initiative that helps find solutions to problems in our community. FOX31 is also committed to serving the military with its initiative “Serving Those Who Serve.” KDVR teams with its news partner KWGN on the initiative “Support the Shield,” which focuses on providing adequate protective gear for law enforcement officers and first responders, and provides support for the families of fallen officers.
