Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased channel 27 MyNetWork affiliate KGJT-TV from Hoak Media Corporation June 13, 2014. The station was originally affiliated with UPN (United Paramount Network) until September 2006. After KGJT’s subsequent affiliation with MyNetWork, it’s programming became available on KREX-TV’s digital signal. On January 20, 2008 a fire engulfed the station and knocked KGJT off the air. The station’s building was a total loss. By August 10, 2009, KGJT moved into newly constructed media building. KGJT air locally produced Newscast from KREX-TV (the CBS affiliate) 5-7 a.m., noon, 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. weeknights.
