Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased KXNW-TV a MyNetworkTV affiliate from Tribune Media Corporation on {Instert Date}, 2018. KXNW kicked off the new millennium as the area’s newest TV station. Originally named KWBS-TV and licensed to Springfield, MO as a PAX affiliate, in 2004 the station was transferred to the Northwest Arkansas market as the area’s WB affiliate. After several call letter changes, the station took on the KPBI call sign in 2006. During this time, the station also became NWA’s first MyNetworkTV affiliate. Local TV (later Tribune Broadcasting) purchased the station in September of 2011. The call letters were changed to KXNW to better reflect it’s position in Northwest Arkansas. In 2012, KXNW launched the first 9pm newscast in the market, it has been #1 in that time period among several local news products.
KXNW’S syndicated lineup includes Friends, Inside Edition, Extra, Dish Nation, and the market’s top-rated legal block of day time programming, headlined by Judge Mathis.

Cable/ADS penetration in the market is estimated to be 84% (43% wired, 41% ADS). The area is home to Wal-Mart, Tyson, JB Hunt and the University of Arkansas. It’s also one of the fastest- growing metropolitan areas in the country.
