Nexstar Broadcasting Group acquired WBGH, a NBC affiliate, in December 2012, from Newport Television. WBGH re-entered the Binghamton market in 1996 as its NBC affiliate. As a sister station to WIVT, Newschannel 34, local news is simulcast on WBGH providing more Local News, Local Weather and Local Sports to the market. WBGH syndicated programming has grown to include the finest shows in syndication; Modern Family, Dr. OZ, Judge Judy and Steve Harvey. The station prides itself on partnering with NBC to provide the Binghamton market with Sunday Night Football, Notre Dame Football, the PGA Tour and the highest rated events on television, the Winter and Summer Olympics.
