Nexstar acquired WROC, the CBS affiliate, in December 1999. WROC is Rochester’s first television station and will be celebrating our 75th year of serving the Rochester DMA in 2024. WROC is Rochester’s Broadcast Home of the Buffalo Bills and the 2023 PGA Championship at Rochester’s historic Oak Hill Country Club. The WROC News 8 team is led by News Co-Anchors Adam Chodak and Theresa Marsenburg, Sports Director Thad Brown, and Chief Meteorologist Eric Snitil. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive coverage of local news, information and weather that impacts the daily lives of our local community. WROC syndicated programming includes popular programs such as Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Inside Edition. Built in 1949, the WROC Broadcasting Center was known as “Rochester Radio City”. At the time, it was a state-of-the-art facility with a studio capacity to seat a 400-person live audience. With updates throughout the years, WROC still operates today from the historic art-deco structure boasting one of the few studios in the US with auditorium seating to accommodate a live studio audience.
