Nexstar Broadcasting entered into an agreement to purchase WTRF from West Virginia Media Holdings in November 2015. Throughout WTRF’s history, we have always been strongly committed to our local communities. WTRF delivers local news stories that help inform, improve and protect the Ohio Valley. We take our community responsibility a step further by partnering with over 50 community organizations and non-profit events each year.
WTRF offers the best multi-screen viewing possible providing breaking news via our website, mobile app and social media.
As a CBS, ABC, MyNet and Escape affiliate, WTRF provides some of the highest rated prime time and sports programming. We also carry top rated syndicated programming including Judge Judy, Big Bang Theory, Dr. Oz, The Doctors and Entertainment Tonight. WTRF started the first 10 o’clock newscast in the Ohio Valley and also airs Tonight Live, the only true statewide newscast.
