WVLA-TV, owned by White Knight Broadcasting, Inc. first signed on air on October 16, 1971 as an ABC affiliate but converted to NBC in 1977 and has remained the NBC affiliate in Baton Rouge ever since.
After a 2 year hiatus WVLA began airing local news again in January 2009. We have expanded to provide 24 and ½ hours of news per week. Our 6:30pm newscast is also the first and only of its kind in Baton Rouge. We continue to improve our product with enhanced graphics packages, promotions, and promotion presentation. Our news team is embedded in the contributes their time and talents to various organizations throughout the year.
WVLA’s syndicated programming includes Ellen, Rachel Ray, and Entertainment Tonight.

This combined with industrial and technological companies moving into the area has pushed employment in the city to an all time high of 367,000. Area Development also ranked Louisiana as America’s 6th best state for doing business in 2013.
