Mission Broadcasting acquired WYOU TV, a CBS Affiliate, in 1998 and entered into a shared services agreement with Nexstar Broadcasting station WBRE.
The station’s syndicated programming includes Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, Entertainment Tonight, and The Insider. Annually WYOU broadcasts “The Scranton St. Patrick’s Day Parade” which is the 3rd largest parade in honor of the Irish in the United States. Since 1999 the station has televised the “Children’s Miracle Network Celebration” a local event which raises upwards of 1.6 million dollars each year to aid in research and critical care for sick and injured children.
In November 2004 WYOU moved its sales and business office to the WBRE facility.
