WGN Radio Wins Gracie Awards Second Consecutive Year
WGN Radio producer Iridian Fierro wins for Interview Feature – Sports, Local Radio
CHICAGO (March 25, 2025) – WGN Radio today announced that for the second consecutive year, the station is a recipient of the Gracie Awards, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWM). The 2025 award recognizes WGN Radio producer Iridian Fierro in the Interview Feature – Sports local radio category.
The award-winning audio published June 18, 2024, as a podcast to wgnradio.com, is Ms. Fierro’s in-studio conversation with professional wrestlers Skye Blue and Kyle Fletcher discussing their careers and sport before appearing at a Chicago wrestling event.
A graduate of Columbia College with a bachelor’s degree in radio and a master’s degree in arts management, Iridian Fierro has been a producer at WGN Radio since 2021. She works behind the scenes with host Jon Hansen on the weeknight show “Your Money Matters” and Saturday show “Let’s Get Legal.”
In 2024, WGN Radio host Lisa Dent received The Gracies for best local radio non-morning drive talk/personality host in a major market.
The annual Gracie Awards recognize outstanding contributions by women in news and entertainment, both in front of and behind the camera and microphone. Local radio and television winners will be honored at the 50th Annual Gracie Awards Luncheon on June 18 in New York City.
