WGN Radio’s Bob Kessler To Anchor Weekday Midday News
CHICAGO (October 20, 2021) – WGN Radio announced that longtime news reporter Bob Kessler will anchor midday news Tuesdays through Fridays.
“Bob’s been an integral part of the WGN family for decades. He’s a great newsman and capably leads the anchor desk,” said WGN Radio news director Ryan Burrow. “A true teammate, he brings a positive energy and personality to the newsroom. I’m glad we’re able to expand his role on the news team.”
A native of Crystal Lake, Bob Kessler joined WGN Radio in 1994 as a producer and became a weekend newsroom anchor in 1997. Kessler’s work has been recognized with an award from the Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters’ Association in 2019. Bob Kessler is also an accomplished harmonica player and ordained Dharma teacher with the Buddhist Society for Compassionate Wisdom.
